Sipu Ruan

Professor from the Robotics Institute, School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation, Beihang University, China

Research interests include service robots, robot motion and path planning, imitation learning, embodied AI, computational geometry, etc. Before joining Beihang, he was a Research Fellow from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore, Singapore. He obtained PhD degree from Department of Mechanical Engineering of Johns Hopkins University, USA, focusing on Robotics. At Hopkins, he was a member of the Robot and Protein Kinematics Lab of the Laboratory for Computational Sensing and Robotics (LCSR), under the guidance of Prof. Gregory S. Chirikjian. Sipu received the Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, China. He has published more than 20 papers including IEEE T-RO, IEEE RA-L, Research, IEEE CVPR, IEEE ICRA, etc. And he served as Editor for Unmanned Systems, Associate Editor for ICRA, IROS and Session Chair for IROS, AAAI.
