— Dr. Tam attended the 13^th Seminar on Green and Low-Carbon Civil Engineering Structures and Materials in NingboTech University as the Section Chair.

— Dr. Tam was invited for giving a seminar entitled “Structural and Property Characterizations of Fiber-Reinforced Composite Materials: From Nano-, Micro- to Macro-Scale” at the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture at Guangxi University.

— Dr. Tam attended the 5th International Conference on Modeling in Mechanics and Materials in Nanning, China and had a presentation entitled “Structural and Property Characterization of FRC Composites: From Nano- to Macro-Scale”.

— Dr. Tam led five undergraduate teams to win three first prizes and two second prizes in Architectural Structure Design Competition in Beihang.

— Dr. Tam was invited for giving a seminar entitled “Structural and Property Characterizations of Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Composite Materials: From Nano-, Micro- to Macro-Scale” at the School of Mechanical Engineering at Tongji University.

— Dr. Tam attended the 3rd Conference of New Materials and New Structures in Civil Engineering in Wuhan, China and had a presentation entitled “Multi-Scale and Machine Learning Investigation on Structural and Property Characterizations of Fiber-Reinforced Composite Materials”.

— Dr. Tam was invited for giving a seminar entitled “Structural and Property Characterizations of Fiber-Reinforced Composite Materials: From Nano-, Micro- to Macro-Scale” at the School of Civil Engineering at Wuhan University.

— Dr. Tam attended the Online Acceptance Review Meeting for Investigation on Application of the Unmanned Helicopter Technology held by Huizhou Power Supply Bureau, China Southern Power Grind as the panel of judges.

— Dr. Tam was invited for giving a webinar entitled “Multi-Scale and Machine Learning Investigations on Structures and Properties of Fibre-Reinforced Composite Materials” at Dyson School of Design Engineering at Imperial College London.

— Dr. Tam attended the 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Structures (ICSUST2) & 2nd Symposium of the Young Editorial Board of SUST (SYBES2) in Nanjing, China and had a presentation entitled “Multi-Scale and Machine Learning Investigation on Fiber-Reinforced Composite Materials”.

— Dr. Tam attended the 8th International Conference on Advanced Composite Structures and Mechanics in Nanjing, China.

 Dr. Tam was invited to visit Huizhounan Railway Station of Guangzhou-Shantou High-Speed Railway.

— Dr. Tam was invited to visit Department of Engineering Science at University of Oxford and had a series of academic activities, including a presentation entitled “Multi-Scale and Machine Learning Investigation on Structural and Property Characterization of Fibre-Reinforced Composite Materials”.

— Dr. Tam was invited to attend the 96th Youth Academic Salon organized by The Chinese Society for Composite Materials in Beijing, China and had a presentation entitled “Structural and Property Characterizations of Fiber-Reinforced Composite Materials: the Multi-Scale and Machine Learning Investigations”.

— Dr. Tam attended the 3rd International Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring for Railway System in Qingdao, China.

— Master student Jia-ao Hou attended 2023 International Automotive Lightweight Conference & Exhibition (ALCE2023) in Yangzhou, China and had an oral presentation entitled "Vibration properties of CFRP composite under moisture effect: the multi-scale and machine learning study".

— Dr. Tam attended the 2023 Terahertz Industry Application High-End Seminar in Qingdao, China.

July

— Master student Jia-ao Hou attended 11th International Conference on FRP Composites in Civil Engineering (CICE 2023) in Rio, Brazil and had an oral presentation entitled "Machine learning-based investigations on nonlinear vibrations of CFRP composite". The conference paper is authored by J. Hou, C. Wu, Y. Yao, R. Qin, D. Lau and L. Tam.

— Dr. Tam attended the 12th Architectural Structure Design Competition for College Students in Beijing, China as the panel of judges in the Group B Competition (Bridge Section).

June

— Prof. Asghar Habibnejad Korayem from Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) was invited to visit School of Transportation Science and Engineering at Beihang and had a series of academic activities.

— Ruidong Wu received his Ph.D. degree from Beihang, and received the Outstanding Graduate of Beijing.

— Marc received his Master degree from Beihang, and received the Excellent International Graduate of Beihang.

— Dr. Tam attended the 2nd Symposium of Composite Structures in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Greater Bay Area in Dongguan, China.

— PhD graduate Dr. Ruidong Wu was invited to attend the 12th Asian-Australasian Conference on Composite Materials (ACCM12) in Hangzhou, China and had an oral presentation entitled “Molecular Investigation of CNT/PP Nanocomposite under Dynamic Loads”.
