— PhD student Ruidong Wu attended YRGS 2019 in Shanghai, China and had an oral presentation entitled "Coarse-grained simulations on creep behavior of polypropylene".

— Dr. Tam was invited for giving a seminar entitled “Deterioration of fiber–matrix interface in fiber reinforced polymer composite” at the School of Aeronautic Science and Engineering at Beihang University.

— Dr. Tam attended the CCCM-4 in Zhuhai, China and had an oral presentation entitled “Molecular dynamics investigation on creep behavior of fiber-matrix interface”.

October 

— Dr. Tam is appointed as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the School of Transportation Science and Engineering at Beihang University.

— Dr. Tam attended the 2019 China Summit Forum on FRP in Civil Engineering in Shanghai, China and had an oral presentation entitled “Molecular dynamics study on creep behavior in fiber-matrix interface”.

— Student assistant Jinqiao Jiang attended ICCM22 in Melbourne, Australia and had an oral presentation entitled "An atomistic study of creep behavior in fiber/matrix interface". The conference paper is authored by C. Wu, J. Jiang and L. Tam.

— PhD Supervisor Prof. Denvid Lau visited Department of Civil Engineering at Beihang and gave a seminar entitled “Effect of elevated temperature on the mechanical properties of carbon nanotubes reinforced cementitious materials”.

— Dr. Tam successfully past the defense on his postdoctoral report on “Investigation on interfacial failure mechanism of fiber reinforced polymer in harsh environments”.

— Dr. Tam will be promoted to a tenure-track Assistant Professor at Beihang in September.

— Dr. Tam attended the 2019 Jiangsu “Advanced Materials and Structures in Civil Engineering” Summer School for Postgraduate Students in Nanjing, China and had an oral presentation entitled “Multiscale modeling on composite microstructure”.

— Dr. Tam attended the 2019 National Symposium of Concrete in Wuhan, China and had an oral presentation entitled “Understanding interfacial failure of FRP-concrete structure in harsh environments”.

— Dr. Tam was invited for giving a seminar entitled “Understanding nanomechanics of bamboo/wood materials and wood composites via multiscale modeling” at the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Wuhan University of Technology.

— Dr. Tam attended the 1st Conference of Computation and Simulation in Civil Engineering in Wuhan, China and had an oral presentation entitled “Molecular dynamics investigation on failure mechanism of fiber/matrix interface in harsh environments”.

— Dr. Tam has received the Outstanding Performance Award 2018 for Postdoctoral Fellow from Beihang.

January 

— Dr. Ligang Sun visited Department of Civil Engineering at Beihang and gave a seminar entitled “Atomistic studies on the mechanical properties and deformation mechanisms of advanced nanostructured metallic materials”.
