Profile

Biography

A dedicated aerospace professional and educator with a lifelong passion for aviation. Combining academic rigor with practical flight experience, he holds a Private Pilot License (EASA-PPL) issued by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency. His career is defined by a commitment to bridging the gap between theoretical aircraft design and real-world engineering applications.

Research & Engineering

His research focuses on interdisciplinary aircraft design, specializing in:

  • MDO & Stealth: Multidisciplinary Design Optimization encompassing aerodynamics, stealth, and stability/control.

  • Flight Dynamics: High-fidelity modeling, simulation, and sub-scale flight testing.

  • System Design: Development of aerodynamic analysis software, flight simulators, and advanced air data sensors.

Key Achievements:

  • Projects: Serves as Principal Investigator (PI) for multiple national-level research funds during the 14th Five-Year Plan period and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) for Young Scholars.

  • Industry Impact: Maintains strategic partnerships with top aerospace institutes and serves as an Appointed Expert for the COMAC C929 Project.

  • Academic Output: Published over 30 papers, including 21 SCI-indexed publications as first/corresponding author (with 9 in Q1 and 2 in top-tier journals). He holds 9 authorized national invention patents and was the lead recipient of the 2024 CSAA Technological Invention Award (Third Prize).

Teaching & Mentorship

A recognized "Teaching Rising Star" and recipient of the "Most Popular Teacher" award, he leads several University-level First-Class courses, including Principles of Flight and Introduction to Aeronautics and Astronautics.

As the faculty advisor for the Beihang Aeromodelling Team (2019–2025), he has guided students to over 20 national and international championships, including prestigious titles at the SAE Aero Design (USA), BMFA Payload Challenge (UK), and IMechE UAS Challenge (UK).

Public Service & Outreach

He is a prominent voice in aviation science communication, serving as:

  • Vice Chairman: Science Popularization Branch of the Chinese Society of Aeronautic Education.

  • Editorial Board: Youth member for Aerospace Knowledge.

  • Educational Designer: Lead consultant for the aviation laboratory and curriculum at Beijing No. 35 High School.

  • Contributor: Author of numerous features in People's Daily and other leading aviation magazines.

Education & Early Honors

Languages: English & Japanese (Professional Proficiency)

Guidelines for International Student Recruitment

I. Core Admission Principles

  1. 1. Focus on Long-term In-depth Research: Applicants must demonstrate a passion for research in aircraft design-related fields and the ability to commit to long-term, in-depth research. Meanwhile, they should possess aircraft-related professional knowledge corresponding to the graduate program they apply for, as well as programming skills and mathematical/computational abilities to support academic research. Programming proficiency is a mandatory requirement for PhD applicants.

  2. 2. Comprehensive Competence Orientation: Key evaluation criteria include research and innovation capability, practical hands-on skills, teamwork ability, consistency and depth of past study/research experience, as well as research plans for the graduate program based on individual capabilities. It should be noted that individual capabilities may focus on either theoretical research or practical hands-on work.

  3. 3. Prudent Selection Standard: To ensure effective teamwork and favorable graduate outcomes, the research group adopts an extremely prudent attitude towards graduate recruitment.

II. Supplementary Materials Required

  1. 1. Detailed Research Experience Statement: Include specific responsibilities, research methodologies, core achievements, and personal contributions in previously participated research projects (brief description, not just listing project names);

  2. 2. Competence Verification Documents: Evidence of research skills (e.g., programming, experimental operation, simulation software proficiency, etc.) and practical hands-on capabilities;

  3. 3. Research Proposal: Based on individual strengths and the research group’s focus, provide specific proposed research content, technical routes, and expected objectives;

  4. 4. Supplementary Supporting Materials: Documents demonstrating teamwork experience and other materials that support the above evaluation criteria (e.g., recommendation letters, award certificates, etc.).
