Chengwei Fan, Ph.D.
Associate Professor, Hangzhou International Innovation Institute, Beihang University


Research Interests

Dr. Fan specializes in multidisciplinary optimization of turbomachinery, intelligent algorithms in fluid mechanics, and health monitoring of aero-engines. His work focuses on 3D design, structural optimization, fault prediction of fan/compressor blades and related software development, employing advanced numerical simulations and experimental methods to address critical flow and structural challenges in aerospace and high-end manufacturing. He has led multiple key research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Youth Program), and published in top-tier journals such as Aerospace Science and Technology and Journal of Fluid Mechanics. He serves as a reviewer for Journal of Vibrational Engineering & Technologies and other industry journals/conferences.

Collaborating with global academic [École Polytechnique] and industrial partners, Dr. Fan bridges theoretical research with engineering applications. Prospective undergraduates, graduates, and postdocs with backgrounds in power engineering, fluid (structural) mechanics, or computer science (AI) are welcome to join the team!
