Dr. DANG pursued his undergraduate and doctoral studies at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), majoring in Instrumentation. After obtaining his doctoral degree, he joined the research group led by Professor Perry Shum at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), where he successively held positions including postdoctoral fellow and associate researcher. Since July 2025, he has been serving as an associate professor at Sustainable Photonics Resaerch Center,  Hangzhou International nnovation Institute of Beihang University.

He mainly focuses on optical fiber scattering spectroscopy and its application in optical fiber sensing, he has published 20 academic papers in journals including Photonics Res., J. Lightwave Technol., and Opt. Express as the first author or corresponding author, and has obtained 14 authorized invention patents. He has also won several honors, such as the  Nomination for National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation in the field of Measurement, Control, and Instrumentation (f2022), the Young Scientist Award at the IEEE Global Optoelectronics Conference(2024), the Best Paper Award at the IEEE Global Optoelectronics Conference(2021), the Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of Harbin Institute of Technology (2022), and the President's Outstanding Postdoctoral Fellow of Southern University of Science and Technology (2023).

He currently serves as a young editorial board member for Instrumentation (the journal of the Chinese Society for Measurement and Control) and Infrared and Laser Engineering (the journal of the Chinese Society of Optical Engineering), and is also a member of the Technical Program Committee for a number of international academic conferences.
