Dr. Xin Yan received her Ph.D degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Houston in Dec. 2016. After that, she worked as Post Doc researcher and research assistant professor at University of Houston and Brown University. She joined Beihang University in Nov. 2018 as Assistant Professor and became Associate Professor with tenure in May 2022. Dr. Yan is now leading an atomistic modeling and multiscale modeling group in school of Mechanical Engineering and Automation at Beihang University. Her research is focused in 1) time-scaling atomistic simulation; 2) understanding micro structure evolution and effect in metal using multiscale modeling; 3) understanding processing mechanism of continuous fiber reinforced composite using multiscale modeling. Dr. Yan has published more than 20 peer-reviewed journal articles so far, many of which have appeared in journals such as Nano Letters, Acta Materials, Scripta Materials, etc.
