Profile
Prof. Tang has been engaged in the research of urban traffic management and optimization. He focused on individual decision-making behavior and explored microscopic traffic decision-making behavior with Chinese characteristics from the perspectives of theoretical modeling, analytical deduction and numerical simulation. He has developed a series of microscopic traffic behavior models, pedestrian evacuation models and boarding models, discovered the inner relationship between microscopic traffic decision-making behavior and the emergence of traffic groups, and partially solved some internationally recognized problems. As the first author or correspondent author, he published more than 80 SCI indexed papers in Transportation Research Part C & D and other prestigious academic journals, 2 monographs, and a patent. His publications have been cited over 2000 times with an H-index of 32 in SCI database, 14 papers have been listed as ESI highly cited papers, 6 papers were listed as ESI hot papers, 2 papers were listed as the 100 most influential international academic papers in China in 2014. He successively hosted 5 projects from National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). Performance evaluations of the concluding projects were outstanding for the young scholar fund project and excellent for a general program fund project. He is a recipient of the 2014 Excellent Young Scientist Foundation of NSFC, and of the 2009 New Century Excellent Talents in University of China, National Ministry of Education of China.
