MORE+Dr. Xu is a Professor at Beihang University, Beijing, China. He is passionate about enhancing privacy and trustworthiness in various computing domains and specializes in AI security and privacy solutions.
His research interests span across privacy-enhancing technologies, privacy-preserving machine learning, applied cryptography, blockchain, access control, and security and privacy issues in cloud/edge computing. In particular, his current research focuses on methods for optimizing privacy-enhancing technologies and achieving privacy-preserving collaborative machine learning models using privacy-enhancing technologies, etc. He also works on using public ledger techniques like blockchain and smart contracts to build trustworthy, collaborative, and transparent third-party authority infrastructure for privacy-enhancing solutions.
He was previously a Research Staff Member at IBM Research - Almaden, based in San Jose, CA. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Information Security from School of Computing and Information, the University of Pittsburgh and a M.S. degree in Computer Science from Beihang University. He also has a B.E. degree in Software Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University.
