Profile

Our research ambition aims to develop innovative while clinically useful medical devices or instruments based on MEMS technology. We are committed to serving our society’s healthcare through asking question, solving problem, and uncovering truth. Being doers of the next generation of medical solutions, we are pioneering the way how cardiovascular diseases can be evaluated, diagnosed, treated and rehabilitated via introducing MEMS paradigm to traditional measures. We believe that small devices can make big impacts to people’s lives. In our research team, we educate and encourage young people to think critically, challenge ourselves, down to earth, pursue excellence, spark potential, and make changes. We care the most about the training and education of our students, because they are the future.

Dr. Xing Chen is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Engineering Medicine, Beihang University. He received his Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from Chonnam National University, awarded with the highest honor. After graduation, he started to explore his diverse research interests in wireless sensing biomedical implant, implantable sensor packaging, and flexible sensor with application-specific integrated circuit interface for cardiovascular health at electrical engineering of University of British Columbia and University of Utah, respectively. With continuous curiosity in medicine, he moved to the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine to teach and research biomedical microdevices and organ-on-a-chip.
