Zhiyuan Wei is an Associate Professor in Gas Turbine Aero-engine Modelling and Control at Beihang University. He got his PhD from Beihang in 2021, with the thesis topic on advanced safety control for aircraft engines over the life cycle. During his PhD, he was a Visiting Researcher in  Propulsion Engineering Centre at Cranfield University in UK from 2019 to 2020. After the completion of his PhD, he secured a Post-doc position in advanced engine control at Beihang. Zhiyuan has led several national and international projects on advanced modelling and control for gas turbine aero-engines. He serves as a handling editor for the journal SAE Technical Paper and invited reviewers for the prestigious journals in aerospace and thermodynamics. He has published 9 journal papers in high-profile journals in the field and several conference papers in Turbo Expo etc.  

His current interest includes physics-based modelling for advance aero-propulsion, high-accuracy onboard modelling, new control approach for aircraft engines, uncertainty quantification for control law, etc.
