Profile
MORE+Ph.D., Professor at Beihang University, Adjunct Professor at the Green Photonics International Research Center, International Innovation Research Institute, Beihang University, and a National High-Level Young Talent.
He completed his undergraduate and doctoral studies at the School of Physics, Harbin Institute of Technology, during which he conducted joint training at the Department of Microengineering, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (collaborator: Professor Olivier J.F. Martin). He then carried out postdoctoral research at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (collaborator: Professor Joel K.W. Yang), where he was later promoted to Senior Research Fellow.
His research focuses on nanophotonics, integrating light manufacturing, light manipuation, and light sensing. This includes two-photon 3D/4D printing-based additive manufacturing and electron beam lithography for nanostructure fabrication; the application of intelligently designed nanostructures in light field sensing and control, such as metasurfaces and metalenses; nanostructure color design and application; diffractive optical microdevices; and the enhancement of optoelectronic properties of low-dimensional materials by optical nanostructures. In recent years, he has published more than 50 SCI papers in prestigious journals such as Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Electronics, Nature Reviews Electrical Engineering, Nature Communications, Science Advances, and the Wiley and ACS series, with several papers selected as cover articles or highlights. His research results have been widely reported by media outlets such as Phys.org, ScienceDaily, and CNA.
He serves as a reviewer for several journals including Nature, AAAS, Wiley, ACS, and Elsevier, and is a youth editor for Nano-Micro Letters and a guest editor for Nanomaterials and Polymers. He has participated in several national and international research projects, including the Singapore National Natural Science Foundation, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Singapore-Israel Joint Fund, as well as R&D projects with companies like THALES (France) and Lite-On.
During his time abroad, he has guided and co-supervised more than 10 undergraduate, doctoral students, and visiting scholars from countries including the United States, Denmark, Japan, Singapore, and China. Many of his students have been selected for the Global Young Scientist Summit, received awards for best conference presentations or papers, and have earned the National Outstanding Self-Funded Student Scholarship. His research group maintains strong academic exchange and collaboration with top universities in Europe, the United States, and Singapore.
He warmly welcomes Ph.D., Masters, and undergraduate students with backgrounds in optics, physics, telecommunications, materials, and mechanical engineering to join the team. Interested students can send their resumes to haowangbuaa@buaa.edu.cn.
