Qiang Ren received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Beihang University and the Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 2008 and 2011, respectively. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Duke University, Durham, NC, USA, in 2015.
From 2016 to 2017, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Computational Electromagnetics and Antennas Research Laboratory (CEARL) at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA. In September 2017, he joined the School of Electronics and Information Engineering, Beihang University, where he is currently a “Blue Sky” Full Professor. His research interests include numerical modeling for complex media, multiscale and multiphysics problems, electromagnetic compatibility, and AI4S.
Dr. Ren has received several prestigious honors, including the ACES Early Career Award (2021), the Xiaomi Young Scholar (2022), and Young Scientist Awards from PIERS 2024, APEMC 2022, and the 2018 ACES-China Symposium. He serves as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Journal on Multiscale and Multiphysics Computational Techniques (JMMCT) and Microwave and Optical Technology Letters (MOTL). He has authored 3 books and over 200 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings.
