Kaisheng Ming, male, Associate Professor, master’s and doctoral supervisor, was selected for the Young Elite Scientists Sponsorship Program of the China Association for Science and Technology. He received his Ph.D. degree from Beihang University in 2020 and was a joint-training Ph.D. student at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, USA, from 2017 to 2019. From 2020 to 2025, he was engaged in teaching and research at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Hebei University of Technology. In 2026, he joined the International Innovation Institute of Beihang University.

His research focuses on additively manufactured high-entropy alloys, microstructural regulation of refractory alloys, strengthening and toughening mechanisms, and multiscale deformation mechanisms. As principal investigator, he has led 10 research projects, including the Young Scientists Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2020, the General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2025, the Central Government-Guided Local Science and Technology Development Fund Project in 2022, the Hebei Provincial Outstanding Youth Science Fund in 2024, the Hebei Provincial Funding Program for High-Level Overseas Returnees in 2021, and the Tianjin Municipal Natural Science Foundation for Young Scholars in 2022.

He has published more than 20 papers as first author or corresponding author in journals including Science Advances, Acta Materialia, International Journal of Plasticity, and Scripta Materialia, among which three papers have been selected as ESI Highly Cited Papers. He serves as a young editorial board member of both the Chinese and English editions of The Chinese Journal of Nonferrous Metals, a young editorial board member of Materials Research Letters, and a guest editor of Journal of Alloys and Compounds.
