Dr. Ma Xiaoyan is an associate professor of Hangzhou International Innovation Institute of Beihang University (H3I).

After obtaining the doctoral degree in 2020 from University Paris-Saclay, she joined the National Center of Scientific Research (CNRS) in France as postdoctoral researcher. She began to work in Beihang innovation institute since 2022, and hired as associate professor by H3I in 2024. 

Her research areas include multi-scale heat and mass transfer in porous media, nanofluid and micro droplet evaporation mechanisms, detection and microscopic characterization of particulate matter in aviation emissions, etc. The research results are applied to energy utilization and low-carbon emission reduction technologies, performance prediction of green buildings/bio-based materials, aviation airworthiness emission measurement systems, etc. 

She has published over 20 high-level SCI-index academic papers and has led or participated in 4 domestic and international scientific research projects, including the Beijing Natural Science Foundation Youth Project, the Ministry of Science and Technology Key Project, the French Institute of Nuclear Safety (IRSN), and EU cooperation projects. She is also the editor or contributor of two English book on heat transfer theory and technology applications, and particle detection, respectively. 

Achedemic Awards including: First Prize in Particle Testing by the Chinese Particle Society, Best Attending Report at International Conferences, National Scholarship for Doctor degree candidate from CSC, Outstanding Representative Doctoral Graduates, etc. Academic responsibilities include: member of the Women Science and Technology Committee of the 9th Council of the China Internal Combustion Engine Association, reviewer for the international journal Heat and Mass Transfer, guest editor for Applied Sciences, and serving twice as a member of the organizing committee for the International Conference of Materials and Energy (ICoME18, ICoME21).
