My research mainly focuses on advanced structrual alloys, such as ultra-high strength bearing/gear steels and high entropy alloys. I am interested in modelling the evolution of microstructures and mechanical properties of these alloys upon plastic deformation. I also work on designing high entropy alloys for various application scenarios by means of machine learning.
My research style is to establish mathematical models to correlate macro-scale phenomenology with micro-scale interactions and to reveal the underlying mechanisms of these transitions with experimental validations.
