In 2012, Dr. Yuanqing Cheng graduated from the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His supervisor is Xiaowei  Li. From 2012 to 2013, he did postdoctoral research at CNRS-LIRMM Laboratory in France, supervised by Patrick Girard and Aida Todri-Sanial. He joined Beihang University at the end of 2013. From 2015 to 2016, he was an academic visitor to Professor Xie Yuan's research group at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

He is currently a CCF Senior Member, IEEE Senior Member, Executive Committee Member of CCF Interest Group of Integrated Circuits, and serves in TPC of International Conference on Computer-Aided Design (ICCAD), European Conference on Design Automation and Test (DATE), Asia and South Pacific Conference on Design Automation (ASPDAC), International Information Processing Consortium (IFIP) 10.5 Working Group, and the editorial board of Elsevier's EDA publication Integration, the VLSI Journal. He is the treasurer of IEEE CEDA Beijing Chapter. His research was sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation of China,  Beijing Natural Science Foundation, Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Committee and Strategic Priority Research Program of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He authored 1 book chapter and published more than 60 academic papers including PIEEE, DAC/ICCAD/DATE/ASPDAC/TCAD/TVLSI. He won the second prize of Beijing Science and Technology Award in 2017.
