Dr. Qicheng Zhang is an Associate Professor in structure dynamics and mechanical metamaterials at Beihang University and also an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Bristol. He got the Bachelor’s degree at Beihang University in 2012, with undergraduate GPA ranking 1/148. He got the Ph.D. degree in structure dynamics at Beihang University in 2019. And then he worked as a research fellow at University of Bristol and Swansea University till 2024. He was appointed as an Associate Professor at Beihang University in 2024.

Dr. Qicheng Zhang mainly works on mechanics and dynamics of mechanical metamaterials and their applications in aerospace engineering. He developed different kinds of mechanical metamaterials and structures with high vibration suppression and impact absorption properties. He also developed different smart materials with tunable stiffness and damping, which was applied in rotor support for active vibration control. He was the main PI of many projects, such as the IMPACT Fellowship, the project from Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the projects from industry on aerospace engineering. He also participated in many projects, such as the project from Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC UK), European Research Council (ERC) and other funding department.

Dr. Qicheng Zhang have published more than 40 high quality journal papers. He was the guest editor and youth editor of journals, such as Propulsion and Energy, Mathmatics, and Applied Sciences. He is also reviewers of more than 20 high quality journal papers, such as MSSP, CJA, MSEA, etc.
