Liang Sun (associate professor/doctoral supervisor) is currently the deputy director of the Department of Spacecraft & Launch Vehicle Technology, School of Astronautics and an expert of the Asia-Pacific Regional Center for Space Science and Technology Education (China) affiliated to the United Nations. In July 2005, he graduated from the School of Astronautics, Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) with a bachelor's degree in automation. In July 2009, he graduated from the School of Astronautics, HIT with a master's degree in general mechanics and basic mechanics. In January 2014, he graduated from the School of Astronautics, Beihang University with a PhD degree in aircraft design.

He taught the undergraduate courses "Introduction to Spacecraft Technology and Hands-on Experiment" and "Professional Comprehensive Experiment", the postgraduate courses "Spacecraft Structure Layout and Mechanism Design", "Satellite OBDH and Attitude Control System Design and Experiment", "Satellite TT&C Theory and Practice" and "Aerospace Engineering Experiment", and the international student courses (English) "Satellite Attitude Control System Design" "Micro-Satellite System Experiment". 

He won 1 first prize and 1 second prize of Beihang Teaching Achievement Award, and guided students to win one gold medal of the "Challenge Cup" China University Students Entrepreneurship Plan Competition (National Competition), one second prize and one third prize of "Internet +" University Students Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition in Beijing, and one gold medal of the World University Students Cubic Satellite Challenge (China). Moreover, he instructed the students to win the Beihang Graduate Students Outstanding Science and Technology Innovation Team. At the same time, he has won the title of Beihang Excellent Master's Degree Thesis Advisor, Beihang Engineering Master's Internship Excellent Achievement Advisor, Beihang University Excellent Class Teacher, and Beihang Excellent Production Internship Advisor.

He has been engaged in the research of micro-satellite technology, satellite dynamics and control, advanced spacecraft mechanism, and space in-orbit control. He got the Beihang Youth Top Talent Support Program. He has published more than 20 SCI papers in important international journals such as IEEE T-AES, Nonlinear Dynamics, Acta Astronautica, Aerospace Science and Technology, Automatica, etc. He has long been the chairman of the Asia-Pacific Space Technology and Science Conference, the Asian Joint Seminar on Space Engineering, and the reviewer of more than 10 international famous journals such as IEEE T-AES, Nonlinear Dynamics, Acta Astronautica, etc. 

He has presided over and undertaken the National Natural Science Foundation, the national 863 program and other projects. More than 10 national invention patents were granted. As executive deputy chief engineer, the APSCO Student Small Satellite project he undertook was included in the "2016 China's Space" White Paper (international cooperation project), and was praised by the National Space Administration as a landmark achievement of China's space leading space cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.
