Dr. Shahid Naeem is an Associate Professor specializing in Earth system modeling through remote sensing and GIS. His research covers ecohydrology, climate-vegetation interactions, water use efficiency, urban ecology, land cover change, and environmental sustainability. He earned his Ph.D. in Cartography and GIS from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, where he investigated vegetation dynamics and their role in urban environmental resilience. Dr. Naeem has completed three postdoctoral fellowships and led or contributed to projects on vegetation restoration, hydrological processes, wetlands assessment, and spatial modeling. He has also worked with renowned organizations such as ICIMOD-Nepal and WWF-Pakistan on forest change, ecological monitoring, and conservation planning. With more than 30 publications in international peer-reviewed journals, he has received competitive fellowships and grants, including funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). His expertise integrates theoretical knowledge with applied remote sensing, advancing geospatial solutions to address complex environmental and ecological challenges.
