Profile

Dr. Jing Zhong, associate professor at School of Instrumentation and Optoelectronic Engineering, Beihang University. He has obtained Humboldt fellowship from Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Foundation and postdoc fellowship from Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). He has got “Best Paper Oral Award” in 2015 IEEE NANO international conference, 1st poster price in 2018 German Ferrofluid Workshop and Silver Price from Geneva Invention Exhibition. So far, he has been a PI for a research grant from German Research Foundation (DFG). His main research topic is magnetic particle imaging (MPI, a novel molecular imaging modality) and its biomedical applications, including nanomagnetism, precision imaging instrumentation, novel magnetics-based temperature measurement and imaging, bio-immuno-assay to detect antigen/antibody/DNA/RNA and precision diagnostics and therapy of cancer. The interdisciplinary research involves several disciplines, including physics, instrument, chemical materials and biomedicine. Currently, Dr. Zhong has published 24 papers in highly respected SCI journals, obtained 6 international invention patents and 5 Chinese invention patents. He has built close international collaboration with Germany, Japan and USA, including international workshop, exchange and joint-supervision of scientific research staff exchange.
