Eimer Sylvain

As a researcher and associate professor in the field of thin film deposition, he is responsible for the development, operation, and maintenance of thin film deposition materials (Physical Vapor Deposition, PVD) and ion irradiation equipment.

He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Sorbonne University (Paris). ... He has a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Technology, a DEST in Industrial Processes, and a Master's degree in Materials Science. His research areas include nanoscience, nanotechnology, and nanomaterials. He began his research career in 1997 at the IPCMS laboratory of the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and continued his work in 2002 at the GREYC laboratory in Caen, France. In 2006, he continued his research at the University of Paris-Saclay in France until December 2019. He prepared magnetic multilayer film samples for the laboratory and the scientific community and used irradiation techniques to regulate and characterize thin films. He developed growth and characterization processes for magnetic alloy samples with novel effects, which are applied in ultrathin multilayer films and complex heterostructures for magnetic memory devices. After working for 18 months at the Beijing FERT Institute from January 2016 to June 2017, he joined the Micro-Nano Science and Technology Research Center at the Hefei Innovation Research Institute of Beihang University in January 2020. In May 2024, he joined the National Spintronics Laboratory.
