Ahmed A. Wasiu is an Asst. Professor at the Hangzhou International Innovation Institute, School of Electronic and Information Engineering (GNSS Department), Beihang University, Hangzhou Campus, Zhejiang Province, China. He earned his Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees in Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and Satellite Communications from Beihang University, Beijing, China. He also holds a Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Nigeria.
Dr. Ahmed is a visiting lecturer at several universities and has an extensive record of scholarly publications in high-impact journals and leading international conferences. He has received numerous academic and professional awards and serves as principal investigator on several nationally and internationally funded research projects.
His research spans a broad spectrum of space and satellite communication challenges, including GNSS signal processing, interference mitigation, signal delay, and noise reduction. He is particularly recognized for his work on multipath mitigation, GNSS reflectometry for environmental monitoring, and AI-enhanced error correction techniques. His innovations extend to GNSS-based weather forecasting through radio occultation, precision agriculture, climate-smart farming, and food security.
In the realm of emerging technologies, Dr. Ahmed explores 5G-GNSS integration for advanced location-based services, GNSS applications in UAVs, and remote sensing. His pioneering research continues to advance the frontiers of satellite signal processing, system optimization, and atmospheric effects mitigation, leaving a lasting impact on both academia and the global space technology sector.
