Dr. DIAO Peng is currently a full professor in School of Materials Science & Engineering, Beihang University.
He received his Ph.D. degree in Physical Chemistry from Institute of Coal Chemistry Chinese Academy of Science in 1999. He worked as a postdoctoral research fellow from 2000 to 2002 in College of Chemistry & Molecular Engineering, Peking University. He joined School of Materials Science & Engineering Beihang University as an associate professor in 2002, where he was promoted to Professor of Materials Chemistry and Physics in 2007. He attended Stanford University as a Senior Visiting Scholar at the Department of Chemistry through the 2011-2012 academic year. His research interests include advanced materials for energy and environmental applications, such as electrocatalysis, photoelectrocatalysis, photo-to-chemical energy conversation and storage, catalytic degradation of organic pollutants via advance oxidation technology, battery and fuel cell electrode materials, controlled synthesis and assembly of nanomaterials, electrochemical and photoelectrochemical sensing. He has received several awards in research and teaching, including: the New Century Talent of Ministry of Education (2008), the Outstanding Teaching Award of Beihang University (2008), the Award of Excellent Course for Graduated Students (2012), the 1st Brilliant Teaching Award for Graduated Students in Beihang University (2015). He has undertaken many national and provincial research programs including the projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, the New Century Talent Project by Ministry of Education of China, the Doctoral Advisor Project by Ministry of Education of China, and the projects funded by Beijing Natural Science Foundation. He has published over 100 peer reviewed articles in prestigious journals such as Adv. Mater., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Appl. Catal. B, ACS Appl. Mater. & Interface, J. Mater. Chem. A, Nano Energy, and Small etc. with several articles being the SCI highly-cited papers. His h-index in Web of Science is 35.
International students with a background in chemistry (or physics) are welcome to apply for the China Scholarship Council (CSC) funded Masters and PhD programmes under my supervision.
